About Safes Online

Twenty years of knowing what a safe is really worth

We are Ireland’s safe and lock specialist, founded by Alan Conway and run today as the safe division of Conway Locksmiths. We stock the safes we would fit in our own homes, and we will tell you plainly when a cheaper one is the right answer.

Founded by a locksmith, not a marketplace seller

Safes Online was established by Alan Conway, who has spent more than twenty years working with safes and locks. That background is the whole difference. We are not a storefront reselling boxes we have never handled. We fit these safes, we bolt them to floors, and every so often we are the ones called out to open one that has been shut for thirty years.

It means the advice you get here comes from the same people who see what actually fails. Which safes get walked out of a house because nobody bolted them down. Which fire ratings hold up. Which model is overkill for what you are storing, and which one quietly is not enough.

We only stock products from suppliers we trust, and everything we sell complies with Irish and European regulations. If that means talking you out of the expensive option, we will do that. We would rather have the right safe in your house than a bigger sale.

What we hold ourselves to

Four things we will not compromise on, whatever the order is worth.

Independently tested

Proven, not claimed

Our fire resistant safes are tested to European standards by independent laboratories. The rating on the page is the rating it earned.

After a fire

Lifetime replacement

Our fireproof safes and cabinets carry a lifetime after the fire replacement warranty. If it does its job once, we replace it.

Fully compliant

Irish and European standards

Everything we sell meets Irish and European regulations, so what you buy will stand up to your insurer asking questions.
