GDPR Compliant Safes
Data safes in Ireland for hard drives, backup tapes, USB media, memory cards and film. Digital media is damaged at far lower temperatures than paper, so a standard fire safe is not enough. These safes are built and tested specifically to keep media within survivable limits. Free nationwide delivery.

This is the most expensive misunderstanding in the category. Paper begins to char around 180°C, and paper rated fire safes are designed to hold the interior below that. Magnetic and solid state media start failing far earlier, in the region of 55°C to 70°C, and humidity inside a heated safe compounds the damage.
A safe that returns your documents perfectly readable can hand you back a completely dead drive. If your backups matter, the media rating is the only number that counts.
Server and NAS backups, archive tapes, master copies of design or video work, photographic negatives, and any media holding personal data you must retain under GDPR. For paper records alongside them, pair with a fireproof filing cabinet or a paper rated fire safe.
A data safe protects against fire on site. It does not protect against the building being inaccessible. Treat it as one layer alongside an offsite or cloud copy, not the whole plan. Ask us if you are unsure which rating applies.
